This story is about a bear who lives in a department store. When he realizes that he is missing his button he goes looking for a new one. After that corduroy is able to find a new home.

The moral of this story is that you can not judge a book by its cover. Even though corduroy was missing a button he still found someone who wanted to take him home to be his friend.
